Carols by Candlelight Melbourne 2014 – The Ultimate Guide

Last year I published my first guide to Carols by Candlelight. It was the ultimate guide to carols in Melbourne and is still one of the most popular articles I have ever posted on My Fair Melbourne. It makes me so happy to know that there are people out there who love carols as much as I do. Christmas is absolutely my favourite time of year. How could it not be? The 25th of December might be the only day of the year that everyone spends away from the office. Blackberries are safely switched off, clients are away from their desks and we can all just enjoy uninterrupted time with loved ones.

This year, like every year, Melbourne is putting on the spectacular Christmas show that is Vision Australia’s Carols by Candlelight. But there is more to carols in Melbourne than just the big one on Christmas Eve. Community carols are a great way to get into the spirit. Singing your heart out to songs full of joy with kids running around and candles flickering in the night is a beautiful way to spend an evening. Here is my guide to carols by candlelight in Melbourne, 2014. Pack a picnic and spend a night under the stars – I hope you enjoy it.

24 December 2014- Vision Australia Carols by Candlelight

Vision Australia’s Carols by Candlelight is iconic. Coming up to its 76th year, it’s a Melbourne favourite with performances by the big names in Australian music along with a host of reality TV stars (think Anthony Callea and Rob Mills). Kate Cebrano and Marina Prior will be back again this year together with Lisa Wilkinson and David Campbell who will be on hosting duties. But take note, this one isn’t free  with an adult general admission ticket setting you back around $65  but it’s worth it for the magic of carols on Christmas Eve – and it’s all going to a good cause. You can check out the full list of performers and ambassadors here.

  1. MFM to be honest if the B Grade Idol Finalists belting out the tunes this year can’t be bothered learning the lyircs I’d be tempted to side entrance this one.

  2. Thanks for this blog, was very helpful last year trying to get too as many of these as possible! Looking forward to the next one this Christmas!
