An Evening at Stokehouse City for Twinings and Gourmet Traveller {Event Listing}

Unless you’ve been living under Swan Bridge for the last 12 months you will have heard that Melbourne’s iconic and much loved Stokehouse was destroyed by fire earlier this year. It was a sad time for all involved. But with the devastation of losing one of our most adored seaside restaurants (who could forget that beautiful deck overlooking St Kilda beach) has come an exciting addition to the CBD with the opening of Stokehouse City. With an invigorated menu and a more urban, inner-city feel, Stokehouse City has enjoyed a roaring trade since opening up in June this year.

Tomorrow night, Stokehouse City will be hosting a special event to celebrate a new range of Twinings infusion teas. Head chef Ollie Gould will be creating some exciting seasonal dishes to celebrate the range and incorporating the key flavours of orange, cinnamon, spiced apple and chamomile into each course. Last week I had a sneak peek at the menu and it sounds divine – think lamb rack with grilled cos, broad beans and bacon jus and buttermilk panna cotta with almond crumb, orange and cinnamon jelly and Montenegro ice cream.
